Alright, this will probably come as an enormous shock to most of you, especially if you've known me for a while, so I recommend that you take a moment to brace yourselves before you continue. I don't want to be blamed for any heart attacks here.

Ok, every one ready? I'll just come right out and say this, since I don't know a better way to do it. *drum roll please* I'm seeing someone. A boy. A fabulous boy, actually, lol. And yes, I mean that he's my boyfriend. We've been dating for a little over a month, and he's absolutely fantastic! I've known him for probably about 8mos; we take Tae Kwon Do together, which is how I met him. He joined the advanced class 2nd semester last year, and impressed me right away because he wasn't intimidated by me (some of the higher ranks are still intimidated by me - it's that whole feisty groin hunter thing ). Anyway, we kind of hit it off right away, and got along really well in class, though we never got together out side of class until a couple of months ago. I had a bit of a thing for him for a while but didn't really do anything about it. I didn't know it, but he had a thing for me too, but also wasn't doing anything about it. After the semester ended I didn't see him for a while; even though the gym was open for summer session, he was working 3 jobs and didn't have time to come to class. His first day "back" he challenged me to a game of mini golf and we started hanging out quite a lot and then, well, it's pretty obvious what happened after that. Anyway, if you want details, you can give me a call.

In less exciting news, my job at the nursery (with plants, not kids) ends in Oct. so I'm looking for another job. My mom put it into my head to get another writing job, so I'm thinking of getting a hold of the features editor at the Record Eagle and trying to work out a freelance gig. Despite the fact that my time with UpNorth pub. was an absolute nightmare, I love to write, and would be happier doing that than working at a coffee shop or something, so here we go again. Working for the features editor would basically be like working for a magazine, which I would prefer (though options in the area are somewhat limited), and freelancing would mean choosing my own hours and stories. Plus, my major complaint before was that the company I worked for was a corporate disaster; another company might be better. Hopefully anyway.

I finally learned to ride a bike about two weeks ago. (my boyfriend (James), his sister, and her boyfriend taught me - it was a collaborative effort ) Today, I finally went to GT Cycle and ordered the bike I've been looking at. I've been using a hand-me-down that's rather too big, and the general consensus is that one that fits makes it a lot easier . I'm pumped and can't wait 'till it comes in. James and I are hoping it comes in before we go down to Detroit next week for Renaissance Festival, but it'll be cutting it close. We're going down and and staying with his sister and her boyfriend and running around D-town for 3 days. It's going to be a blast!

Alright, I've decided that's enough typing for one night! Sweet dreams and nighty-night!

Ok, so, certain people (you know who you are ) are presuming me to post, and though I'm not usually one to give in to peer pressure, this particular peer can be particularly persuasive, so I'm giving in. Plus I love her alot, and I figure this is a pretty harmless thing to give in to. So, yeah, my first post since April . . . cricket . . . cricket . . . Just kidding, there's actually a fair amount that I can post about, though I don't know if I'll include it all tonight. For an account of my near death several days ago (I don't remember exactly when because I have absolutely no sense of time) you can check out the xanga of my dearly beloved Corrie (who almost died as well ), per the link on my site. I will soon be posting an account of my own (yes, Corrie, I promise) but it will take me some time to come up with one that rivals hers. In other news, I was recently contacted out of the blue by a woman I interviewed while working at the Town Meeting asking me to teach a group defense session for her in the near future. The fact that this woman is a psychologist makes her request even better . I'm psyched to say the least. I was also recently contacted by my ex-boyfriend who I hadn't spoken to in about 7 years. We "dated" on and off from 5th grade until our freshmen year of high school. About halfway through 9th grade, we broke up and he went on to be home-schooled. We used to spend hours on the phone every night after school until my mom made me go to bed, lol. About 4 mos after he left I started Tae Kwon Do, and haven't dated since (apparently, guys are afraid of girls who can cause them great bodily harm. Go figure ). Anyway, he got ahold of me a few weeks ago and we watched fireworks together on the 4th and reminisced about "the good old days." We also got slightly lost on the way home, lol. We're going to go catch Pirates II together on Sat. I saw it last night and it was FABULOUS! I intend on seeing it at lest 4 more times. I LOVE Jonny Depp! Oh, yeah, I'd like to extend an open invitation to anyone interested in dancing, as in Swing, Latin, even a Waltz (which I'm really bad at ) to come to my "class" on Friday nights, and if you're a girl, feel free to bring any and every guy you know (we could use them ). If you'd like more info, just give me a call or email me, I have internet again now, so I can actually check it, lol.

Big Love,

Alright guys and gals, I've got big news for ya! Other than that I'm actually posting for once, lol. Starting next week, I'll be teaching a women's self defense class at the Fitness Center in Traverse City. I've been trying to get something going somewhere for probably at least a year, so I think I'm entitiled to a little YAY FOR ME!!!!! Anywhoo, this is where you all come in. *Mischievous grin* Girls, you all know how important I think this is (the fact that I talk about it all the time should be  a dead give away). Especially if you have night classes or work evenings, it's really good to have some knowledge! Guys, I know you all want to keep the women in your lives safe. So go tell you mom, grandma, girlfriend, sister, 2nd cousin twice removed, whatever, about this class! Anyone who wants more info, just give me a hollar, you can email, call, come visit me . . . I'll get the message and get right back to you!

Peace

Skilled Warriors Of Old

Skilled warriors of old were subtle,

mysteriously powerful,

so deep they were unknowable.

Just becasue they were unknowable,

I will try to describe them.

Their warroness was as that of one crossing a river in winter,

their caution was as that of one in fear of all around;

their gravity was as that of a guest,

their relaxation was as that of ice at the melting point.

Simple as uncarved wood,

open as valleys,

they were inscrutable as murky water.

Who can, in turbidity,

use the gradual clarification of stillness?

Who can, long at rest,

use the gradual enlivening of movement?

Those who preserve this Way do not want fullness.

Just becasue of not wanting fullness,

it is possible to use to the full and not make anew.

~ Lao-tzu

Deep, no? I love it!

Anywho, for those of you who DIDN'T   go to my belt test, I passed. I am now a 1st Gup (red-stripe)! Yay me!! Infact, I was voted most intimidating to meet in a dark alley by the testing panel - of black belts! lol. My boys who were testing with me also passed. They are now black belts. Yay them!! Yes, we are awesome.
